S153 Stoneware Clay

 

S153 Stoneware Clay (Cone 4-10)
    S-153 Stoneware Clay is a moderately textured clay that contains 9% fine grog. That responds well to most techniques.  S-153 Stoneware Clay is an excellent clay for schools.  Sample on the left is a  warm beige, fired at Cone 6 oxidation. The clay is a light gray at Cone 10 oxidation shown in the middle. Shown on the right at Cone 10 reduction firing the clay is a rich gray brown with noticeable speckling.  S-153 is similar to S-306 Warm Brown Stoneware Clay, except the colors are lighter.
